Commercial disclosures

Current status

Prior Route currently has no advertising, affiliate, referral or sponsorship relationship and receives no commission from provider links. Links to provider sites are ordinary source or navigation links unless the page clearly says otherwise.

There is no paid product, checkout or lead-sale programme on this site.

How future revenue will be labelled

If monetisation is introduced:

  • an affiliate link will be identified next to the link or in a prominent disclosure on the same page;
  • a sponsored article or placement will be labelled Sponsored before the reader reaches the commercial content;
  • display advertising will be visually distinguishable from editorial content; and
  • paid links will use rel="sponsored", following Google Search Central’s outbound-link guidance.

An affiliate commission may be earned when a reader clicks and later buys or signs up. The provider, tracking window and commission terms may differ by programme. Prior Route will not state that there is “no extra cost” unless that is true for the specific programme and transaction.

Editorial rules commercial relationships cannot override

  • A provider cannot buy a ranking position, rating, recommendation or favourable conclusion.
  • Comparison criteria are set before commercial status is considered.
  • A provider’s own pricing or coverage page supports only what that provider says; it does not prove service quality, compliance or suitability.
  • Material limitations, missing evidence and credible negatives are not removed for a sponsor.
  • A relationship that could reasonably affect how a reader interprets a page is disclosed on that page, not only here.

Sponsored exposure may buy a clearly separated advertisement. It cannot buy the result of the route check or the editorial order of provider comparisons.

Reader data

Prior Route does not currently collect leads for providers or sell contact details. If click measurement, advertising cookies or lead forms are introduced, the Privacy notice will be updated before those tools go live, and consent controls will be added where required.
